Simon and Fabienne Peckham (and son Monty) run this organic farm just south of the M40 on the Fosse Way.They produce organic (soil association) Berkshire and Gloucester Old Spot pork; Slowed reared organic grass-fed lamb, grass reared Beef hung for at least 21 days (not yet organic but reared to organic standards); organic Geese, Turkey, Duck. Guinea Fowl and Chicken.
For Christmas they are preparing the ultimate Christmas lunch – the 5 bird roast – a bronze Turkey stuffed with a Goose, Duck, Chicken and Guinea Fowl with a layer of organic sausage meat between each bird – you probably need a big houseful and a strong dining room table for that!!
All the stock is reared outside for the majority of the year, only going inside when the weather makes life hard for them. They feel this means that the animals enjoy a great quality of life, socialising and plating in small groups allowing all to flourish.
They also offer a weekly pack of meat comprising a Sunday Joint, Chops or Steaks, a midweek joint along with sausages, bacon and eggs for the weekend – delivered locally for free.

The Wheatsheaf Inn in the quiet Cotswold village of Northleach has recently upgraded its accommodation and outside spaces-
The Wheatsheaf is a coaching inn, where in years come by weary travellers would rest and recuperate by having a good meal and a few drops of beer or ‘wine’. Today our focus remains the same.
We aim to please our local community by being warm and friendly and providing professional service and interesting food that changes regularly in a family friendly environment.
For people visiting from further afield our goal is to be an exceptional example of a traditional coaching inn; with real locals, great beer, excellent regional food and clean and comfortable rooms.
A great place for a drink, a lunch or a stay in one of their 14 en-suite rooms.
We have 14 rooms which all boast wonderful individual features. The rooms are designed for comfort based around what original features are there. We believe that the key ingredients for a good night sleep are big comfortable beds, powerful showers and rich luxurious bed linen
Being just off the Fosse Way the inn is generally quiet as is the small but delightful village which is worth exploring. The Wheatsheaf also hosts many events – wine tastings, wine and food evenings, clay-pigeon shooting etc

A new arrival takes the form of Oeno - an online merchant with a shop Cirencester, Gloucestershire. This is no traditional, stuffy winemerchant, but a stylish and informative way of presenting a smallish range of well-chosen and very interesting wines. Whilst there are some good classics available, there are many less well-known wines and regions – including Sicily, Corsica and Slovenia – predominantly from small growers.
No pile it high – sell it cheap approach here – the wines are elegantly displayed with very good tasting notes – and the opporunity to taste in shop – the shop environment is impressive and prompts you to linger and explore – prices start at about £6.00 – so no bargain basement, but not extortionate for the quality on offer!
