Visit one of the largest private collections of trees and shrubs in the country. Batsford Arboretum, one of the jewels of the Cotswolds and one of the largest private collections of trees and shrubs in the country.
The Arboretum was designed and planted in the 1880s by Lord Redesdale on his return from a post in the British Embassy in Tokyo, bringing a distinctly Japanese element into an English setting with the scarlet, grey and golden leaved trees in contrast with the dark evergeens. There are also magnificent views and vistas over the Evenlode Vale which makes the climb to the higher parts of the garden worthwhile. Visitors can also enjoy the tearoom and finish with a trip to the garden centre.
Recently upgraded facilities including café/Restaurant and plant shop. Situated one and a quarter miles west of Moreton-in-Marsh.
