All are animals are allowed to range free in pasture.  They are not stressed in there normal life and therefore do not require treating with un-necessary drugs which is the situation with many intensive farms. The farm lies south-east, and adjoins the outside boundary, of the village of Moreton Morrell.  The land comprises of deep clay soils, divided from neighbouring land by a running brook to the west of the holding and mature hedges to all other boundaries except for the Fosse Way.  The farm produces Organic Lamb, Organic Pork, Organic Beef, Organic Chicken, Organic Duck, Organic Geese, Organic Turkey and Organic Eggs.

All the stock is reared outside for the majority of the year, only going inside when the weather makes life hard for them. They feel this means that the animals enjoy a great quality of life, socialising and plating in small groups allowing all to flourish.

There has been a coaching inn on the Fosse Way where it crosses the River Stour since the 16th Century, but in recent years the place was getting a touch neglected.

However in December 2006 it re-opened under new owners after extensive refurbishment. It is now a stylish, modern informal venue for “dining, drinking and dozing”. Whether it be for a coffee en-route or an overnight stay in one of the 12 individually-styled rooms. The place has a “nut” theme for the rooms and bar and restaurant – which is fun. The decor is modern, yet sympathetic to what is an old building with sloping floors, narrow staircases and some low beams upstairs.

Lunch in the bar was excellent – a shortish menu, but with a good selection of both modern and traditional fare.
