From 26 September – 13 December 2009 Compton Verney has an exciting and interesting new exhibition -The Artist’s Studio.
The exhibition will take you behind the scenes, as you explore the studios of some of the most prominent British artists, inlcuding J. M. W. Turner, Paula Rego, Gwen John, David Hockney, Antony Gormley, Damien Hirst and Lucian Freud.
Through paintings, photographs, drawings, film, etchings, books and studio furniture, this exhibition will explore the changing function and depiction of the artist’s studio from the 1700s to the present day.
